Affiliate Marketing

Where To Start Your Affiliate Marketing

You might be one of those persons who are looking towards the Internet as a way to make some extra money. Or maybe your searching for a method to replace your current income. No matter what the reason you are reading this post, you are clearly looking to earn more money by utilizing the Internet. The first thing I want to tell you is that the Internet will not be an overnight success. Regardless of what you might have read, if you want to make it online it requires, time, patience and hard work. In this post we’ll be explaining the easiest method to get going with affiliate marketing.

Clickbank or Commission Junction is going to be your first stop since you will need to find products and services to promote. The way in which these site work is that you’ll earn a commission for any purchase you produce for the vendors. This way you don’t have to concern yourself with creating a product or building a sales page for that product. Your only job in affiliate marketing is to get people to go to the link you are provided for the products your promoting.

Setting Up Your Domain

The next thing you are going to do is to purchase yourself a domain name and web hosting. The domain name is a thing you will want to get right, you’ll want the domain name you select to be related to what you are going to be promoting. For this example we’ll be looking at the dog training niche. You will want to pick a domain name like, www.dogtrainingprograms.com

It is now time for you to set up a blog on the brand new domain. This can be done easily from the c-panel, as they have a WordPress platform which the system can set up for you, you need to simply enter a little information and let the system do the rest. You can find guides and pdf’s on the web that can help you set this up. Furthermore if you do a search on YouTube, you will also be able to find videos that will help you with the setup.

Leading Traffic and Getting Sales

Now let’s imagine you registered with Clickbank, you now just need to go there and find what ever products you would like to begin marketing on your new blog. What you’re going to want to do is merely choose a product read through the sales page and create a short article in regards to the product. Towards the end of the article you will leave your affiliate link to make sure that whoever reads your article, and want to check out the product can have a chance to do so. Whenever these people end up buying the product you earn a commission.

To tell the truth, then that was the simple part of affiliate marketing. Link building is the next step to let individuals know about your blog. You will need to use backlink building for every post. So each time you come up with a new post, you will also need to begin creating backlinks to acquire the attention of the search engines. If you follow this method to the letter over time you will start to notice your blog traffic grow. When it comes to the backlink building one can find manuals and programs on the web that can help you with that portion.

I think Commission Junction is a great place to find good affiliate programs. LinkShare and ShareASale are other good networks.

I have made a bit of money from Clickbank products. But I think the overall quality of products listed with eJunkie is higher, and they are therefore easier to sell.

Hi Matt and thank you for your comment.

There are indeed lots of possibilities when it comes to selecting an affiliate program.

Regarding the quality or value, I believe it’s really about your temper. But you are right in, a lot of crap is being sold from Clickbank.

A good thing then, is that Clickbank offers a 60 days refund policy, and though I most certainly have found many products not worth a penny, I have also found several products of very high quality.

And really; I really do not find crappy products to be as much of a problem, as those culprits who try to sell them without even making an honest review first.

I strive to do so myself ;)
